Welcome to Day 2 in our 12 Days of Grazing Boards series!

In the state of the world today, I understand that there are many, many people out there that are not comfortable with public eating yet. If I'm not with my close loved ones, I still fall on that list too.

So, today's recipe is the perfect way to make an impressive, handheld, individually portioned appetizer that is beautifully themed as an edible winter wonderland.

Today, we're making Snowglobe Jarcuterie!

During the pandemic, jarcuterie took the cheese board world by storm. The innovators figured out a way to give the full cheese board experience in a beautiful, personalized mini mason jar. And, that phenomenon is the inspiration for today's walking appetizer.

We start with a stemless wine glass. The shape of the wine glass is the perfect vessel to give our jarcuterie a rounded, snow globe type vibe. I used glass wine glasses, because I already had them on hand. You can get a set of these for pretty cheap at all of your major retailers too. But if you're concerned about the slippery fingers of the kiddos or you don't want the extra clean up, you could absolutely get some clear plastic stemless wine glasses instead.

For the “snow” in our snow globe, we're going to line the bottom of our wine glass with some white cheddar popcorn. From there, we'll top the popcorn with a layer of mini salami bites to add some literal meatiness to the appetizer. Then to add some height to the jar, we'll use some flatbread crackers, some breadstick crackers, and a fancy toothpick loaded with colorful grapes to line to the back row of the jar.

But the showstopper item of this snowglobe is the cheesy snowman. This little snowman is sooooo adorable and soooo easy to make. We just need a piece of mini babybel cheese, some edible markers (which you can find on Amazon), and a sparkly snowflake toothpick. We'll skewer the cheese on the toothpick, draw on the snowman's face with the edible markers, then place him front and center in the snowglobe. And pro tip, if he's trying to tilt over, poke the bottom of the toothpick in a piece of the popcorn snow to help stabilize the snowman.

This jarcuterie is sure to be a crowd pleaser at any event. It's simple. It's inexpensive. But, it's totally magical and beautiful! Plus, you can set up an assembly line to build these babies and let your loved ones get in on the action too.

Okie dokes. I told you guys that today's recipe might be my favorite of the series. But, tomorrow's recipe was the clear front runner with my taste testers. So, stay tuned!

Snowglobe Jarcuterie

Serves: unlimited Print

Ingredients:

• white cheddar popcorn

• mini salami

• mini babybel cheese

• breadsticks (I used rosemary breadsticks)

• artisan rectangle crackers

• 2-3 colors of grapes

• edible markers

Directions:

1. Use edible markers to draw a snowman face on peeled babybel cheese. Skewer cheese on a snowflake toothpick.
   

2. Fill the bottom of a stemless wine glass with popcorn. Top with mini salami. Add babybel snowman, breadsticks broken in half, artisan crackers, and grapes skewered on a long decorative toothpick. Enjoy!
   

3. Plan to serve about ½ cup popcorn, 1 babybel, 4-5 mini salami, 2 each breadsticks and crackers, and 4-5 grapes per glass.
   

Recipe notes:
